Heir to
the large French school of the traditional saxophone, Jean-Yves FOURMEAU
belongs to this race of musicians who, with enthusiasm, carry high the
colors of their instrument. He makes radiate the saxophone under all his
facets: Soloist, Chamber music, Orchestrate and Teaching.
Exceptional is his career: first price of the CNSM of Paris at 17
years, 3rd cycle of chamber music saxophone and piano (of ever seen in
1978), since 2006 he is the saxophone solo in BERLINER PHILHARMONIKER ,
soloist in radio-France, founder of the quartet which bears his name and
which is recognised like one of best on the international level;
professor with the academy of CERGY-PONTOISE, the students come from the
whole world to follow its courses. Guest professor Indiana University
Bloomington (2000-2001). Artist consulting for the company YAMAHA, he
contributes to the artistic development and the acoustic improvements of
the saxophone. Director of collection to the editions " Billaudot " he
contributes to widen the repertory of the saxophone.
J.Y. FOURMEAU gives concerts and master-class in Europe, Asia,
Canada, the USA and Australia. He recorded 14 CDs and he is the only
saxophonist in the world distributed under the label " PHILIPS classic ".
